1. Exam Overview

SSC CHSL Exam Syllabus

Tier-I (Preliminary Exam):

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, coding-decoding, series, blood relations, direction sense, order and ranking, puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, etc.
  • General Awareness: Current events, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general policy, and scientific research.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, time and distance, time and work, mensuration, data interpretation, etc.
  • English Language: Reading comprehension, cloze test, synonyms, antonyms, spellings, idioms and phrases, one-word substitution, sentence correction, error spotting, etc.

Tier-II (Mains Exam):

  • Descriptive Paper: Essay writing and letter/application writing in English or Hindi.
